Rawtenstall based – Hybrid working (3 office days per week)

£35,000 – £40,000 per year dependent on experience & open ended commission


Reporting to the Event & Operations Director, the Sales Manager is responsible for defining our overall sales strategy to drive growth and increase profitability across the Don’t Panic portfolio.

You’ll work with our team of Account Executives to drive entry and ticket revenue, and build relationships with key influencers to drive our sponsorship sales.

As an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will regularly report on team and project progress, and play a key role in driving the business towards our objectives.


  • Working with the Event & Operations Director and Finance Director to define and set the Sales Strategy for the business.
  • Being an active part of the Senior Leadership Team, attending regular meetings, reporting on team performance and producing sales reports where required.
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager and Events & Operations Director to create profit targets for our portfolio.
  • Growing and developing entry and ticket sales for existing events via own sales activity and team sales, working to pre-agreed targets.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sponsorship strategy to acquire new sponsors and retain existing ones, working to grow sponsorship and hit pre-agreed targets.
  • Writing sponsorship proposals, pitching and winning new business.
  • Innovation across sponsorship, working with the events team to identify new opportunities to maximise income generation.
  • Produce post event analysis reports, identifying areas for improvement
  • Attend Don’t Panic events and other key digital marketing events to network, aid growth and maximise sales as well as promote our owned awards.
  • Providing visibility and pipeline on team performance and progress against targets across the sales team.
  • Work with the Senior Account Executive on resourcing, training and development and quality and standards of work delivered across the sales team.
  • Accountable for the over-arching performance of entries and ticket sales your team are working on.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to coordinate the sales and marketing cycle.


  • Relevant work experience within a similar role
  • Impeccable attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Strong leadership skills and previous team management experience
  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to develop professional relationships in all aspects of the role
  • Previous experience of sponsorship sales and the ability to present and pitch for new business
  • An understanding of the digital industry, ideally within an agency environment
  • A proven history of defining and implementing effective sales strategies
  • A proven ability to multi-task across multiple projects with varied deadlines
  • The ability to manage KPIs and produce sales reports
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience using CRM systems, ideally HubSpot
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong problem solving and issue-resolution
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Willing to travel, with flexibility around working hours
